Oh dear, I just noticed it's been over a month since I last posted. It's not that I haven't been playing with paper, ink and paint. I've just been doing a different kind of playing that's not ready for prime time posting. I'm taking Barbara Kobe's Creative Journey Game through Kaleidosoul. The Game, under Barb's skillful guidance, uses mixed-media art to make a game board and game pieces that reflect one's Heroine's Journey. Tough and insightful work. At the same time I just started reading The Soul's Palette, which is helping me through the resistance that's coming up in the wilderness stage of the Creative Journey Game. The author describes The Soul's Palette as "the creative source within that heals, makes whole, and helps us deeply understand who we are in a way that no other way of knowing can" (p. xi). When I started adding visual art to the usual text in my journal a few years ago, who would have thought I'd end up here!
That's what this spread for last weekend's Altered Divas book ended up being about. It's at least the third time (October, 2006 and March, 2006)I've used this theme in an altered book or journal. Journeying on!
