If you ever have a chance to take a class with Leandra from Paper Artsy don't miss the opportunity. She is an excellent teacher who has the rare ability to work with people with a wide range of interests and experience while keeping everyone on task and together. She shares the basic principles that create real learning. Yes I know some of you have heard it a hundred times, but I often forget which type of ink works best on what surface, UNTIL this class. Leandra also squeezes half a ton of techniques into one six hour class without making it feel rushed and EVERYONE left with a completed mini book. I got to try beeswax collage for the first time, and no, I'm NOT buying a melting pot! One of my favorite learnings was the simple gesso and acrylic background technique that's featured in the latest Paper Artsy catalog.
