Keep it Simple APC

Simplicity APC Today's Crazy Amigo's Challenge is proverbs and sayings.  I love this quotation from Anne Marrow Lindbergh's A Gift from the Sea.  Interesting how the same chalk ink background works for beach and desert scenes.  Stamps from Magenta (title), Time to Stamp (quotation), All Night Media, Rubbernecker and Time to Stamp (shells).

It's a Dry Heat ATC

It's a Dry Heat ATC Today's Created By Hand Challenge is "colors blue and sand".  Having just made a mermaid ATC yesterday and with the stamps still out on the worktable to be cleaned, an ocean theme was my first thought.  However, today was the first day I turned my ceiling fan on after the furnace came on for the last time less than three days ago.  Oh this Mojave Desert weather can be fickle.  The title is a typical desert rat's response to people who ask "How can you stand to live there?" Stamps from Taylored Artwork (title), Stampin' Up (rocks), After Midnight (plants).

Alcohol Ink ATCs Take 2

Create ATCs I felt like I cheated on today's Think Monday, Think ATC challenge because I didn't use text and aluminum foil in my background like the tutorial did.  It's not that I didn't try both the first time around, but I think a background this bold needs a bolder stamp than the mermaid one I used earlier today.  The Stamper's Anonymous Create worked much better and the aluminum foil under the alcohol ink gave it a copper look.

Ocean Fantasy ATC

Ocean Fantasy Today's Think Monday, Think ATC challenge was to use the alcohol inks on transparency technique. The video is in German, but the visuals are easy to follow. This week's Mixed Media Monday challenge is mermaids.  The mermaid stamp is from the Altered Book Club, the wave stamp is from Rubbernecker and the dolphin eyelets are from The Eyelet Outlet.

Strange Fruit

Strange Fruit Today's Saturday Surprise Challenge is songs and music.  I chose Billie Holiday singing Strange Fruit.  Postcard and photo images from Wikimedia Commons of clockwise from top left: George Meadows, 1889, Pratt Mines, Alabama; Rubin Stacy, 1935, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Jesse Washington, Waco, Texas, 1916; Laura Nelson, 1911, Okemah, Oklahoma; Michael Donald, 1981, Mobile Alabama. Stamps from Stampsmith (Holiday) and Funkadelic (tree). Photo corner source unknown. Sheet music from Musicnotes

Tiki Time Postcard

Tiki Time Postcard This week's Thank God It's Friday Challenge is umbrellas.  In a kitschy mood, drink umbrellas and Tiki instead of protection from the rain came to mind.  Drink umbrella, magazine clipping, Stampin' Up (batik borders) and All Night Media (alphabet).

Glamor Girl ATC

Glamor Girl This week's Theme Thursday Challenge is Glamor Girls.  Image from Ten Two Studios Thelzeda's Photo Album CD, background script stamp from Stampington

Modern Dance ATC

Modern Dance Today's ATC Wednesday theme was "modern".  That's it.  Just "modern".  After reliving visions of avocado green and harvest gold, Nevada test site mannequins and atomic symbols, these angi-b dancer stamps with Judikins retro accents on a blow-pen background showed up.

A New Leaf

A New Leaf Today's Crazy Amigo Challenge is Nature.  Carmen's Veranda (quotation and large leaf) and Inkadinkado (leaves background) stamped on waste paper.  The quotation reads "Each spring we have the chance to turn over a brand new leaf".

Create Dream Play

Create dream play postcard Today's Thank God It's Friday Challenge is Zettiology, which is where the quotation stamp is from.  I made the background with Staz-on brushed through a Tamp-a-tile.  The other stamps are from Sunday International (woman), Creative Chaos (Create), Inkadinkado (Dream) and Art Impressions (Play).
